WILLIAM FEICKERT: Pat Condon and I were throwing rocks at each other during lunch recess and one of the rocks went through a school window shattering some glass onto the british janitor who was taking his lunch break.
He got up and yelled at me and richard and then reported us to the principal. The principal ordered me and Pat to take home economics with the girls for the remainder of the year as our punishment. It was fun because we learned how to bake cookies, bread and pizza. We also learned how to sew with a sewing machine. Pat had this dirty blonde hair that was always falling just over his eyes and the teachers would tell him to get the hair out of his eyes so they could see his face. He was really funny. One time a teacher asked him what he was going to be when he grew up. Pat replied, "I'm gonna be a playboy". Then everyone in class started laughing. |
KIM MORGAN: All of us have enough memories of that time and place to fill a book (uh, yes, I'm still working on that!) ... who can forget the Friday night dances at the AYA, meeting friends at the Spartan Rest, sneaking in through the back door of the NCO club, football games, pinball machines, the occasional AYA excursion to London, Switzerland, Wales, Scotland? But I'd have to say that my all time best memory is finally getting with the boy I liked during my last week at Alconbury.

WILLIAM FEICKERT: Debbie Baker had a brother but I cannot remember his name. One time he got on the school bus in the morning and sat down next to me placing his book bag on the floor near my feet. He was out of breath and getting comfortable in his seat when I noticed that his book bag was not the one he normally carried. I mentioned this to him and he looked down at the book bag and had this shocked look on his face. He yelled out " Oh no, it's my bowling ball ". It was so funny. In his rush to get on the bus he accidentally picked up his bowling ball bag instead of his regular bookbag. ( it was one of those halfmoon shaped bags).
Of course the whole bus was hysterical. I felt bad when I saw him lugging that bag to class, he was so embarresed.
